I did this to Frankie Hill once. I was at the Powell Skate Zone in Santa Barbara and they had this sewer pipe type obstacle set up that was fun to slide. Anyway, I had pretty decent snap back then and lip slides were my jam. I'd been lip sliding this sewer pipe all week and here comes Frankie one day attempting to do it in front of me. Let me say I was a Frankie fan, still am. So Frankie tried a few lip slides on the pipe but couldn't nail it. So I showed him how.

Even then at age 18, I knew that was a shitty move on my part. But I was and remain an eternally mediocre skateboarder and have to do what I can do.... Frankie didn't seem bothered. He even gave me a little nod.

The following week, I skated with James Kelch at the Skate Zone. I was trying blindside flips over the pyramid hip. Something Kelch could probably do without much effort but he told me he'd taken too much LSD... I never landed one and didn't take myself LSD trip until about three years later.

There's a skater that was really good back in the late 90's in Baltimore. But I hated skating with him cause he would pounce on a trick someone would be trying. To make matters worse, he would usually land it first and then would cheer you on to land it. It had this aura of belittlement since it kinda took some of the stoke of landing it

I've never seen this happen with "the good skaters" it's always some random dude with a wrist guard, baseball cap, and fallens trying the same tricks others are trying.

I mean damn, feeling called the fuck out right now (just swap in some NB's for the Fallens), except I'll never try anything you're doing right after, unless it's a really gross backside slappy, because that's literally all I've got.

That and a decent flatground ollie.
