Best Gifts
« on: December 15, 2010, 01:54:03 PM »
Fuck a negative thread where you complain

Many of the best gifts I've ever gotten have not been expensive but reminded me why I love to celebrate the holidays, being with family and friends/endpussysentence

On a serious note though when I was 11 I got a pocket watch. It was a pocket watch for an ol timers waistcoat, but it had a fucking scorpion on it. It was seriously the dopest thing ever for an 11 yr old, a pocket watch with a scorpion on it.

christmas 1999

(i didn't quite go that ham)

between getting an n64, mario kart, and a few packs of pokemon cards, that was hands down the best christmas ever.

My mom and dad never had a lot of money to spend on my brother and I but they were both really creative and they taught us how to use our minds and build stuff. Reading lots of books, going to museums. It was hard sometimes because when we'd come back from summer break other kids would be like 'we went on ______ awesome vacation.' My brother and I were like, 'O we went camping 45 minutes from our house and my dad showed us how to make a camera obscura.' LOL but later you realize the best gifts can't really be bought.

Best part about this dude was his arms ripped off, like a dinosaur ripped them off.

That was 1993 christmas.

At my request, one of my parents got me this a couple years ago:

Amazing to watch stoned.

There was an amazing commercial that they played ad nauseam on TV, but sadly I can't find it anywhere on the interweb. In place, here's whatever the fuck this is:

that sounds nice!

my parents were pretty poor when they came to germany, so the first years I didn't had awesome stuff at all. the other kids in the social housings (aka projects) had better and a nicer toys, even tv's in their rooms. but I was the only kid in my neighborhood that was able to graduate from high school, which is the best gift I could ever get. my parents did something right with taking care of my education. I will be out of university in two months and still don't own a tv.

This was the best board game as a kid but it got destroyed within six months. Hero's quest was good, too bad no one else ever wanted to play it.

All in all the best gifts were Legos.

I had totally forgotten about Hero's quest. I used to play the fuck out of that game, and come to think of it, you're right, i used to have to play it all by myself all the time.
I'm gonna go cry on the toilet now.

My freshmen year i traveled to Florida with my school's marching band and my parents gave me 300 dollars just to blow on things for myself. I ate leftovers from other people the entire week so i didn't have to buy any of the super expensive food. i think i bought one thing for myself (A zero deck) the rest i spent on buying gifts for everyone else.
