I have been observing the lifted and bent arm for some time. I call it the broken wing. Sometimes looks fake even if it's not. However, in most cases it is at least highly suspicious.

My reference is MJ, he developed it in the early 2000s. There are hints of it in Seven Steps to Heaven, but it doesn't really become pronounced until Modus Operandi. I consider it a key element of his style since Yeah Right. Is it fake or just the natural evolution of his style?

Gilbert Crockett has perfected it in recent years. He pretty much owns it now (no disrespect to MJ). Fake or not, he gets a pass for general greatness anyway.

Dakota Servold on the other hand is probably second gen faking Gilbert and does not get a pass.

And then there is Cody McEntire, looks fake as fuck but I can see a deeper logic here.

I had the broken wing thing going pumping bowls and surfing when I was a grom. I got vibed for it mercilessly until I taught myself to stop doing it haha

Some  jabronis flex it  it to hard from their power chakras, it can feel good and fun, like atchley. We all got skating chakras where our power comes from bruda >:(.

MJ does the butler thing way more in fully flared. he said he was drunk/had been drinking for pretty much every trick he butler'd the roll away for. probably the most drunk clips in a video part?

"Butler'd the roll away" – good one. Was the phrase coined in that interview? Link?

The other two on that list.......meh....... although, I have seen Mr. toothpick skate in person and it is quite fucking amazing.

I have to admit that watching toothpick's parts and clips is a guilty pleasure of mine. There is something about his abilities, no matter how whack the whole package appears.

My position is that it's all fake, or none of it is.
I can relate to this. However, it really puts me off if people radiate self-consciousness while skateboarding. I believe that the body can only arrange itself in space perfectly if that obstacle is out of the way. Isn't the pure moment of doing a trick what it's all about?
