I don't think so, tattoos just fade a bit over time and his skin is dark making them a bit harder to see to begin with

^^^^^Oddly it's a gift and a curse with dark skin and tattoos. Like through time, tattoos just don't look bad but with white skin, it looks terrible. To contrast that, people with dark skin can't get certain colors to show cause it just clashes whereas on lighter skin, it looks great.

IDK who's tattoos you've seen but they need a better artist. Either that or they botched the whole self care thing.

I spend a lot of time at my local and have seen some work that's 15+ years old and still looks outstanding.

I guess I am generalizing and I am sure there are exceptions to the rule. It does really come down to how you take care of your tattoo. I am asian and live in SF so I am always covered to a degree but if you lived in say Hawaii, I am sure the sun through time would fade your tattoo through the years.
