Some of these insanely quirky parks can sometimes be fun or atleast worth a visit just because they have something so odd to try and skate the challenge is worthwhile and ull get some unique footage out of it..
If you discount artificial turf covered parks which is HILARIOUS you get the other worst kind of skateparks. Ones that try to be normal parks but their build by the local tradies who occasionally do cement work and once drove past a skatepark so they vaguyely know what its meant to be like finished.. Everything looks like what its meant to look like, but its all just a bit off so you cant find anything different about it to skate, everythings just really difficult for no reason.
You can often spot this by the brushed concrete finish. A pre-fab park around me used to be on a tennis court type surface but the township decided to fix it up and pour a new concrete slab. Unfortunately, they gave the slab a brushed finish and now it's a fucking cheese grater.
There is a park in Baltimore (Pigtown?) that has a lovely brushed finish everywhere, even on the transitions.
The ultimate "looks great - is unskateable" park I've visited is Lancaster, PA in the heart of Amish country. It's as if no forms were used whatsoever during the pour and everything was eyeballed. One transition might be the mellowest thing ever, the next one has 3 kinks along its radius, the next one is essentially a bank with a kink at the bottom tight enough to jam your nose into. Seber does a kickflip in the fullpipe there in Cash Money Vagrant.
Don't be fooled, this is awful:
