I was even considering starting a thread on this topic, but throwing it in here seems appropriate...

Anti-Hero has become a poser brand.

I'm not speaking of the team, but as far as a brand goes... kinda like the Thrasher logo out there.

My neighbor, who doesn't skate, has an huge Anti-Hero eagle sticker on his car. I feel like I'm seeing more and more Anti-Hero shirts on kids who clearly don't skate. Lots of youngsters at the park with their first genuine skateboard, no scuff marks because that can't ollie or slide yet, so those Anti-Hero graphics are pristine.

Kinda like when Element and DC logos started popping up on non-skateboarders about 15 or so years ago. Dare I say that by 2020 Element will be a more respected core brand than Anti-Hero?

Oh, I'm not knocking the youngsters at all. I just am using them as a barometer of mainstream popularity. I see it as an indication as to what logos and brands are recognizable to a novice.

At least when you're a washed-out hipster douchebag in NY, you can milk it at some decent looking, hard to skate spots. In LA you're just a tan-lined faggot in a school yard somewhere.

won’t be long before they’re on anthropologie.com and you’ll be able to pick up a complete while shopping for scented candles and nice diningware. don’t ask me how I know about anthro’s super cute stuff.

Hey now scented candles are pretty nice.  They make my apartment feel way more like a home than just a place I jack off and sleep at.

woah. just tried the link again in the op. within a matter of hours (and just in time for black friday/cyber monday) they've gone from selling four completes to becoming a full-fledged online skateshop (that sells skate warehouse blanks?).

did urban outfitters buy skate warehouse in order to acquire a turn-key online skateshop? i've been wondering about the sudden influx of money skate warehouse has seem to come across, seeing that within a few weeks they've gone from having no team to putting on reynolds, vargas, brophy, asta, manchild, and foy.

https://www.slapmagazine.com/index.php?topic=101985.0
https://www.instagram.com/skatewarehouse/?hl=en

This is a partnership deal between Urban Outfitters and Skate Warehouse....Thats it. Hosted on Urban Outfitters...Shipped from skate warehouse... Urban Outfitters is publicly traded. If they would have bought skate warehouse, we would have know months ago. As far as the team rider "arms race", it looks like SW is just keeping up with CCS.

2018 is the year of the eagle and while their downfall has been happening for a while now I think that this year will actually cement it ... honestly I blame it mostly on Andy Roy having a mouth full of teeth but TNT isn't exactly helping their image at this point, neither is the whole "fuck your condo"/ dystopia schtick they try so hard to portray

You can’t spell Anthropologie without also using the same letters as Anti Hero. Think about it.

As much as I get your prospective, it seems like this has been going on for 3/4 years at least, and they somehow managed to balance between Supreme and Nike collabs and appealing to the meatheads like Andy, T-Mo and Patlanta.

Actually they kinda put them aside to be represented more by Frank, Hewitt, Grosso. Which is a great move.

They didn't march on the LGBTQ paved way from BA, apart from the bear/leather graphic he's getting recently.

The dystopia thing is also the recurrent and most perpetuated message from the company.

I think they are in good hands.

This seems like the next generation of the whole Zumiez/Pac Sun/Vans Store thing.  I went from going through a deck every 2-3 weeks in high school to going through a deck ever 2-3 months in college.  I was focusing on school and sorority girls.  I was lucky to have some flow/sponsored friends who would just send me random packages of decks, wheels, trucks, videos, whatever.

When I moved to DC I went to the mall and it was crazy like for me that there were three places you could buy skate stuff AT THE MALL. This was unheard of growing up.

This actually showed up back in July, yeah it's a portal for Skate Warehouse so they probably get a small commission on sales and orders are out of UO hands entirely. I can't imagine very much product passes through this way.

Non-skaters are the people who really put money into skateboarding. Jenkem's article on the Etnies Callicut is a good example of this. Or how often you walking around and see a pair of Janoski's thinking "that dude don't even know those are skate shoes."
You know I thought these forums were a for skating not discussing fetishes
