Jim Greco Sober Ad
« on: March 02, 2019, 05:52:26 PM »
Hey Everybody I'm looking for a specific Jim Greco Baker ad to send to a friend who just got sober. From what I remember it was 120 days sober or something like that and the ad is just a big text saying JIM GRECO 120 DAYS SOBER not sure if I got the days right but its something like that. NOT the Greco is Off Drugs ad.

CAN ANYBODY HELP ME???!! Thanks.

Dope ad.

I had a fullsize poster of that ad when I was like 13, that my mom tore off my wall when I got caught smoking pot.

That one read “better than speedballs” about Baker Wheels.

Never partaken in speed balls or Baker Wheels but I can assure you Baker Wheels are probably worse for your skateboarding.

This is fantastic
I'm going to argue that Placebo owes their entire career to a Canadian dude's skate video part. Appleyard should be getting royalties for this shit.

OP, this is a weird question because it actually says "127 days clean" at the bottom of the ad posted above, in smaller font.

I'm betting you or your buddy are really thinking of this ad since it's doubtful that Baker put out another ad stating "120 Days Sober" or something if this ad is already saying "127 days clean." I could be wrong, though.

You thinking of the skateboarder interview issue with hearts and hammers Jim era? That was his 127 days.

Damn I left my bubbler at my parents house

Also, it might not be a good idea to remind your newly sober friend that not-sober Greco is much cooler than sober Greco, sadly.

Sorry yes you are wrong

It was literally a picture of him and it said 120-something days sober in big letters - pretty sure it was a two page spread - It was the coolest ad ever. It MAY have been in the Ali Boulala Skateboarder mag, or it was at least around that time.

Honestly guys it may have just been 30 days sober or something like that, I was just making the 120 number up. I'm pretty sure it was more like 30 days clean or something, marking a benchmark.

It was the skateboarder interview that came out right before baker 3. Rolling off that roof in sunglasses and shit. Shalom.

Haha great stuff. I had a the sticker of this graphic on my bong when I was about 15 years old. Great times to be a kid but probably not an ideal time to be a parent of a PD inspired skateboarding teenager.

Why don't you just call Baker and ask them.  Maybe they have an ad archive.  Maybe they'll tell you that you don't remember shit.  Maybe it's not the right message to send your friend.  Maybe he will think that you want him to drastically change his identity.   And then change it again, and again.  What if your friend cant afford to get those neck tats removed?  What then?  What, then?
