Can any tall guys sound off on riding 14” WB? I’m curious to try one of the AH Misregistered eagles but I’m worried it’s going to be way too compact for me (6’4”, size 13 shoe). The responsiveness and pop of a 14” wb sounds good but maybe I’d be safer going with a Real Full SE with a 14.25” wb

Can you link to the board? I’m curious about this shape, and I’ve always enjoyed AH decks.

Both the Curb crusher and Misregistered eagle are the short WB versions. Available in 8.5”/14” and 8.75/14.25”

6'6 size 13 shoe on a pennswood 8.75/31.75/14wb
wheelbase is one of those things you gotta try yourself
personally i prefer the feeling, front foot has to do less work
while cool-guying is a real phenomenon, studies show that 83% of all cool-guying incidents can be attributed to the cool-guyee being an awkward weirdo

6,3" uk12's.

riding 8.25 w/14" wb but that's because I've got vlights with the forged baseplate so the smaller wb board makes it super responsive and snappy with those trucks and my legs feel less tired after a session.

tried 14.25 which is manageable and really stable but a little more work to get some tricks around and also a 14.38  but that board felt super front heavy, wasn't a fan.

i had an 8.25 full se a few months back. it skated great but it felt a bit to long at 32" with the venture wb so went for a shorter deck after.

its all preference/gear related so you got to do some investigating on your own time to find your sweet spot with the way you skate and the trucks you've got.

I've just come out of a year long madness spree trying to find the perfect deck for those forged plates, it wasn't fun but i got there and found the one.

Just bought this sick Scumco Easy Rider 8.0-8.1ish(based off of slap reviews). It has a 14” wb

What do the slap pros recommend for a truck? I’m an older beginner so I’m not well balanced right now.

Thunders work really well for me on 14" WB, but it's pretty subjective tbh.

I rode mine mostly with film trucks and in the end spent time on royals. It was good with both (a bit squirly with the stock royal bushings, but when i put harder ones, it was quite good). I wish i had thunders back then, i think it is gonna be super nice with 147s.

Just know that the whole "this wheelbase needs to be paired with this truck" that many on slap preach is total bullshit. What feels right to you depends on so many more factors and in the end you'll get used to whatever you ride. Especially as a beginner, forget about it, buy your favorite pros truck or whatever and be stoked.

There are pro skaters riding a 14" wb with ace(shortest wb truck) and other pros riding 14" wb with venture(longest wb truck). And then there are people on slap (not pros) talking shit.

Wishing you all the best

April 8.12 14”deck must go great, i would like to try it, (iuse thunders not venture)
Seems like yuto won the olimpics with that set up April8.12 + venture lows(he mainly skates April8” deck)

I tested the April 8.25 14” its a good quality deck but i think its a bit weird shape… long deck with close 7” tail/nose idk not good enought to do a deeper test

The Palace 8,25 14” seems to be good

Anyways i am not buying any 14”wb deck anymore

I move to 14,12-14-25 wbs

Throwing in for Primitive here. I bought two decks with grip in their 2-for-$80 (plus an extra 20% off) sale, and so far the first one (8.125" x 14") has been everything I wanted. It has a short, rounded tail, a big fat nose, and the tight wheelbase with Ace gives my short legs a ton of pop. No complaints, anyone looking at 14" wheelbase decks should consider one.

Still looking for the „perfect“ deck.

14“ wb on 8.25 would be nice.
Rounder nose too. And length under 31.8
Not too flat.

Wb bit over 14 would be alright too.
GX unfortunately is a bit long, at least the new decks.

and theres misregister Eagles one has a 14wb that is 8.25

8.38 true fit dlx shape sounds intriguing

Some of the DLX true fit molds will fit your specs, like this AH that's 8.25 x 31.5 with a 14WB. I love the AH Cardiel true fit with the Mikey Dread WWIII graphic, but I'm scared of a sub-14 WB and I think that one is 13.8.

Check out the DLX 8.28.
31.7 with a 14.12 wheelbase.

Reviving this thread cause I'm in search of the elusive 8"W 14"WB. Anyone know of any current models out there?
Let me preface this post with the fact that I am slightly inebriated, very uneducated and I havent read any papers or done any research at all, or read your post really.

if i was buying a board today, based off of dimensions, the G021

It’s a bit weird but Powell and minilogo make one.    It is super flat though, but I’ve been loving this shape.   Weird or no graphics.

My little cousin started a board brand out of SE Michigan. I helped him with some graphics for his second run:

https://theboysskateboards.com/ols/products/tbs-tag-graphic

This run is from PS Stix, basically the old Hockey/FA shape, and the 8.0 is a 14 in. wheelbase.

which one do you have? i’m assuming that’s flight or mini logo? i keep forgetting to order one of these. i really like flat boards.

@Sativa Lung do you like pennswood? i can’t remember the last board from them i’ve had. maybe a scumco, from like 4-5 years ago. great shape. kinda thick in the plys maybe

@intendedreceivers family affair, very nice.

Echoing the Mini Logo & Powell rec.

Skated a Mini Logo and now I'm on a Powell Flight. Absolutely love these boards.

Yeah, Powell graphics aren't great, but just buy a Mini Logo.

8.125” (close enough to an 8, for me***), that april board i had with 8.125 had long nose and tail and felt weird. to me.

i wonder what size yuto rides? he skated my favorite trucks, would be interested to know what shape he skates.

*** 7.8-8.125 is an 8. hear me out: i can skate those all with 8” trucks no problems. 8.25” board on 8” trucks is ok, but starts to head towards tippy. for me.
