I think it's hard to consider someones break out part to be their magnum opus. (Why I said Cale nuske and Justin Eldridge). The curse of coming out too strong everyone expects them to be "the one", which is always going to be too much to live up to. They'll never get the world ending video part they're expecting.

Tyler Bledsoe and jamie tawncowny (his stay gold part is close but Reynolds rightfully outshined him)

I'd throw Rodrigo TX in there. He's so good and has put out a crazy amount of footage over his career, but his parts always feel like a shitload of clips just thrown together rather than a thought out video part. They're a bit all over the place sometimes.

Luan is insane but his skill's never really translated to street parts for some reason

If Antonio Durao goes his whole career without putting out a career defining part I'll be sad. He's one of the best around, someone needs to hook him up and showcase him properly

Menikmati? Can't Stop???

Menikmati is an all-time great intro part complete with one of the most quotable lines from a skate video ever. “For me it’s crazy like.”

The 2 song part in Can’t Stop (separated by a great Bob part) is the definition of a magnum opus part.

Yeah sure maybe that's a new topic "skaters who's break out part was their best part" I just meant it's hard to analyse things after the fact. You're always expecting things to go way better. I'd say Jake Johnson mind field might be like this too. Like pj yes they did get better later but it didn't hit like you thought it would

You guys are all crazy, the hell you want? Everyone else to have a total life dedication part like Reynolds in Stay Gold? Most of these guys just film normally, there isn't some "I'm gonna kill myself for this" thought for every skater, they just go along life filming whatever they think will look good at the time and that's it.

Henry- "Pack of Lies" is amazing.  Skating, innovation, song.  I don't know what he was up to after that.

Mccrank has always had solid parts.  I don't know him, but it always just seemed like he didn't really care about the big skate industry machine.

I know what you mean, but the fact that a lot of people dont seem to know the part is why its a good answer for the thread. But yeah if you watch the Vicious Cycle part its pretty clear like 2 minutes in that Zered is a top talent

Henry only had the pack of lies part, it was awesome but far from the best he could have put out. Luan has zero celebrated parts. Wades footage is always a treat but he has yet to leave the mark he is capable of leaving and same with the rest. These are some of my favorite skaters ever but they never left a part displaying their full capabilities, which is what i would define as a magnum opus

Luan’s Push part is really good. I don’t know if it’s super famous but it’s a rad part

Antonio Durao showed some insane promise in those Numbers edits and it doesn't look like he'll ever deliver on it. That chest high noseslide line and the sw front heel will forever be etched on my mind.

Magnus Bordewick also.

And Brent Atchley.

Atchley magnum opus is 100% that elementality vol 1 part

there cant be that many goats
while cool-guying is a real phenomenon, studies show that 83% of all cool-guying incidents can be attributed to the cool-guyee being an awkward weirdo

Antonio Durao.

There are a lot of people in this discussion that are really good and never put it all together in a part, but they're not all GOAT status.

Going to have to say Alex Olson too. It's my main gripe about the dude, too much ADHD not enough SSBT. If he put out a legit part that he actually gave a shit about it'd be legendary.

This is not true. The last few shane parts have been an epic showcase of his skills. He has a few magnum opus parts and possibly more in the future

Yeah Lord Quas I think you had it backwards. He had good style but he did 540 flips and double hardflips.

for sure dudes, i appreciate the info - just blows my mind either way, you'd think companies would be tripping over themselves for this guy. must be a dick or something lol
