Most other pro athletes make a lot of money from competing in front of the public, and few have corporate sponsors. Nike isn't going to fuck them over in a few years.

Most pro skateboarders barely earn a middle class tax classification off the checks from their corporate sponsors, and few make money from competing in front of the public. Nike is most definitely going to fuck them over in a few years.

The thread is comparing pro skaters to other athletes, not other professional athletes. So whatever athletes who don't get paid shit but still love what they do would be a good answer. Professional Frisbee golf or lingerie football athletes.

Pro skaters seem alot less disciplined than most other athletes, biebel seems like he handles his weightlifting and nutrition at an almost pro athlete level though.

I cannot fathom the fact that you put the phrase other athletes next to pro skaters.  They are not athletes.  They are performance artists that get paid for their personal expression on a skateboard.  An athlete is a pawn in a game that is supposed to score points.
