There are dads pushing their kids to kill themselves like this all over the skateparks here (Plano, TX), which was weird for me at first because i never saw it back east. Just because you forced your son to drop in on the bowl doesn't mean he's going to grow up to be Grant Taylor.

My dad built me quarterpipes and boxes and stuff growing up but a) i was at least in middle school at that time and b) the biggest ramp i had was ~3ft tall. Something pretty fucked up for me when i hear a dad like "well if you're not going to do it then lets just go home" at a skatepark... when the skatepark was were kids could go back in the day to ESCAPE the pressure from dad's idiot fantasies.

I had to sit down and tell a dad at the skatepark who was chasing his child around the park trying to make him kickturn instead of going up and down a QP to fakie. He approaches me and says something along the lines of "The damn kid won't listen! Teach him/show him" I'm paraphrasing but I gave him the "Kids choose to skateboard because there aren't rules and you don't have to DO anything you don't want man" and kind of tried to explain to him stuff. I think his kid is mildly autistic as well. But yeah, it went right over his head. I hate seeing shit like that. Let your kids be you silly fucks.

gnar, this just brought back a really disturbing memory from a few years ago, at metal prefab park some kid was too scared to drop in and his mom and everyone kept trying to talk him into it and he wouldnt do it, finally the kid starts crying and his mom starts yelling forcing him and saying his dad would be bummed and all this fucked shit. it was sad. it moved me enough to go amd confront the mom that its just skateboarding its supposed to be fun and whatever else my 16 year old self had to say..  she immediately looked embarrassed and they all left the park, before driving off the mom came back crying saying thats not how she raised her kids.. we just looked at her. ... sad day at the park...

Can we find out who this guy is and what area he lives in? If the SLAP detectives got on it, he could easily be reported to CPS and arrested, while the kid can be somewhere safe from a monster who throughs children off what are essentially 12 foot tall cliffs.
