I've always pretty much hated on Bastien, I find the whole "little kid who's really good" thing incredibly boring whoever it is, then after that he's "tech guy on Flip with awful attitude who can do any trick". However, I find his new "I'm utterly insane and just left all my sponsors" thing pretty interesting. Saw him at Bastille in Paris last year, he turned up in a suit and trilby, no board, but with TWO guitars, borrowed some kids board, did a really fast line of about five tricks, gave it back to the kid and said "That boards feels like it has cancer"
Heard he's obsessed with playing guitar and not that bothered about skating. That footage of him at the comp was ridiculous.
I'm warming to him now that he's gone mad.

Fair play to Bastien. He quit all his sponsers to do what he wants but still skates. I'd rather more pros done this than simply try and hang on and milk their pro status with sub-par skating.

I can't understand how people can even doubt his skills.

Also his self cheering from the contest videos seems likeable. To me it looks like he's still stoked on all his supernatural cab tricks.

Oh my god the youtube clip on the grey course is great...

It looks like he's in the final of a comp with a bunch of guys that just got shop sponsored (you can see a few of them skating in between his tricks). The clapping, the falling off the stage... great stuff.

He's just goofing around in the course...anyhow it looks pretty stupid and I have never liked Bastie that much either. He's definitely good but that just ain't enough for me.

I think a lot of it is him reacting to the announcer and just messing around a bit. Contest seem pretty lame, at least he seems like he isn't taking it too serious and just got hi and is having a bit of fun out there. Lutzka seems like way more of a jock with his shit.
