Shit, I do this all the time. Stupid, as the skate there is a perfect warm up.

part of growing older is taking responsibility in doing your part to help the environment (and not feeling like a kook for scolding people for doing stuff like this). Seriously, every older person scoffs at the younger kid's instant gratification lifestyle, but setting a a positive example speaks leaps and bounds to kids. I was ragging on people for driving to the store from the skatepark when I was 18. hahaha ... warming up is a great excuse to not have to turn your car on unless you really need to.

I've seen kids grow up to be adults while I've only known them my adult life. That shit really hammers it home. Seeing them leave or come to the skatepark in their cars to go to or from their jobs. Shit's insane. I don't want to get old!

Landing ledge tricks feels like jumping off stairs for me at this point. I actually didn't skate for a year and a half because my knee blew out landing a trick (was a little bigger than a ledge, but still a sobering experience).

Which leads me to my contribution: getting injured from just skating. As in you had no recognizable or memorable moment where you hurt something, you just wake up the next morning and some part of your body is out of commission for weeks or months.
