;D ::)

The original quote was definitely hyperbolic, but watching Kadow's Hockey II part last night (for probably the 50th time), I was still struck by how unique and different a lot of his skating really does come across.

Even my non-skate friends, who I've shown the promo to, loved Kadow's footage.

This is not always a good sign (non-skaters often love fucking Richie Jackson and William Spencer), but in this case, I do think it shows that there's just something viscerally appealing about his skating to a lot of people.

sick graphic

why are people complaining about his fits? has he said or done anything to make you think he's a neo-nazi?

No, he hasn't literally said anything, or else I'd be like "fuck him".

The clothing you choose to wear is a form of communication though, and your decisions say something about you.

I was just trying to point out that he should be more aware of what messages he may be giving off by some of his choices.

It's also possible people's opinions on the topic, may largely be effected by what kind of area they live in?

I buzz my head down once or twice a week, and would definitely not feel comfortable walking around a lot of areas near me, in one of Ben's "Doc Marten's and ill-fitting pants" get-ups.

Don't mean to be negative on the guy, I've said mainly positive things about him. It's just he's shown himself to be a thoughtful and intellectually curious person in other respects, there's no reason not to apply those qualities to new areas.

surprised the graphic isn't crust and/or pop punk inspired...

Dragons were the original crust punks but then trust punks ruined everything.

It's obvious that is a Choose Your Own Adventure Punk inspired graphic.
touche! Dragons probably had bum flaps too so that kinda makes sense

Impish sausage is definitely gonna blow up as a euphemism this year

No strong feelings on him being pro or not, but he seems like a good candidate for an Emerica reboot if one is happening rn.

This. He would fit in with the earlier punk-ish vibes Emerica used to convey. Also, I'm pretty sure emerica is not that popular on the east coast? This could also boost sales.

I mean dressing as a sharp/mod is not some new thing lol. he should be free to do whatever he wants. if he gets into it because someone thinks he is a racist skinhead that's his own problem. comes with the territory

that being said I dig his skating and he posted about crimpshrine or fifteen a while back on IG so he is a real ass dude in my book

better than most, he had a Nazi army helmet thing going on  :-*

but seriously, it's not like I think the world of him. like many others, I think a lot of his outfits are insane and his instagram posts were always so fucking weird, but his footage has always been unique and interesting to me.  Right up there with the rest of the guys on Hockey, which says a lot. His mama's boys part and his ollie on Love Park gap into the pink chemical water are what did it for me.

anyone who disagrees that he's not a standout pro, feel free to elaborate, because I don't know of anyone that has intentionally focused their first pro board within seconds haha

Does his name sell boards?

Yes: he deserves it
No: he doesn't deserve it.

Remember, this is the same industry that elevated Tom Green to the pro ranks alongside Tony Hawk and Andrew Reynolds. We're talking post 900 Tony and SOTY rookie pro Andrew, at the forefront of the industry. And it wasn't just a guest board, dude was legitimately on the team. All off of an MTV show, a really bad movie, and boneless variations.

With that in mind, doesn't it seem like Ben is a bit more deserving of it?
At least when you're a washed-out hipster douchebag in NY, you can milk it at some decent looking, hard to skate spots. In LA you're just a tan-lined faggot in a school yard somewhere.
