If they started making weed socks and shoes with a li'l cat flipping you off things would really turn around for them.

They've similarly fallen victim to what happened over at Zero. Sometimes a company's aesthetic becomes dated over time. This will probably happen to all the newer smaller companies in the next couple of years. The cycle continues.

Youness is a prick, just let him slip into dwindle obscurity, nobody cares.

Explain!
He doesn't skate like a prick at least
It also doesn't really matter. People love a bunch of the EMB guys like Carroll and Sanchez and its not like they have reputations for being friendly. Actually, both have reputations for being assholes and difficult. Same with Danny Renaud who has one of my favorite parts of all time.

Unless you are on some Gator or Josh Swindel tip, I don't really care how you act off the board if you are amazing on it.

Yeah, how many brands are still going strong after 20 years? The only long-time brand that seems really strong today is Real and Anti-Hero. Alien is now Alien 2.0 that almost no one cares about, and Crailtap are facing hard times. I assume Element is doing well, but since they were bought they've been bland with a catch-all image.

Black label is in their 30th year and Santa Cruz has gotta be over 30 years now too. Only I actually see Label boards on the streets.

They need to make a video called "Sorry We're Not Sorry" to acknowledge how most people still only care about the old Flip roster.

True. It just seems Real has had crazy longevity as one of the top brands in skateboarding. They still pump out strong videos with great skaters and make a good product, while remaining consistent.

Toy Machine actually has lasted for awhile, they had some dark times but seem to be fairly strong right now.

From the looks of things in my neck of the woods, Flip has no chance. No one cares or wants it for all of the same reasons that people have posted above. Shit graphics kill it for me personally. They aren't under the NHS wing anymore and when I heard that news, I was thinking that maybe they could revamp. But that was a while ago and nothing has improved.

20 year curse?

Always thought Flip dropped the ball when they started to cater to 12 year olds. If the brand is good enough 12 year olds will still like it.

I think they'd probably move product though if they started using BBS/Generator/PS instead of china wood. This new wood should have reissued graphics from 94-98 when there decks didnt look like everyone else's favorite kids brand. Some of the jazzy, beatnik, and deco graphics from 94-95 are amazing.

Kinder Surprises with every board can't hurt. Are you listening, Deacon Blues or whoever the fuck runs that company? Or are you making love to women who are languid and bittersweet?

Not sure if it's good or bad that this would be a step up over that:

They should rebrand entirely around the angsty HKD shit. I still rock an HKD bolt out of tribute.
